SENATOR GEORGE AKUME RECEIVES PROF BEM ANGWE, OTHERS INTO THE APC

Senator Dr George Akume fnim, The Honourable Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, was in Benue State to receive Prof Bem Angwe, a former Executive Secretary of the National Human Rights Commission with a multitude of other politicians along with thousands of their supporters who quit The PDP for The APC today.

It was a wonderful and significant day for the All Progressives Congress, Benue State Chapter as it experienced massive influx of new members (decampees) as well as promise of more to come within the next days, weeks and months.

Accompanying Senator George Akume,  The Political Leader of the North Central to the event were The National Caretaker Chairman, Extra- ordinary Convention Planning Committee of the All Progressives Congress, Governor Mai Mala Buni, represented by Former President of the Senate, Ken Nnamani, The Zone A Leader Chief Mrs Mimi Orubibi, Rt. Hon. Herman Hembe, Senator Barnabas Gemade, HE Steven Lawani, Rt Hon Emmanuel Emmanuel Memga Udende, fmr.Senate President, Sen. Ken Nnamani and a host of others, HE Mohammed Abubakar, Chief Jack Gyado, Rt Hon John Dyegh, Chief Simon Shango, Hon Sam Ode, Chief Abba Yaro, Hon Dorothy Mato, Amb Dickson Akoh, Mr Paul Biam, Dr Eugene Aliegba, Prof Terhemba Shija and a host of others. The event was indeed graced by a Host of dignitaries.

In his remarks, Prof Bem Angwe declard his intention to join the APC and commit himself to strengthening the party and ensure future successes. He also expressed his sincere commitment to partner with Senator George Akume and President Buhari to help in the achievement of the dreams and aspirations of The party and the administration.

His Excellency, Ken Nnanami, representing The National Caretaker Chairman, Extra-ordinary Convention Planning Committee of the All Progressives Congress, Mai Mala Buni, was overwhelmed with joy following the mamoth crowd he saw. He acknowledged the leadership qualities of Senator George Akume, describing him as one vast in knowledge and who had played a vital role in the reelection of President Mohammadu Buhari.

Senator George Akume who expressed happiness over the decision of the former Human Rights Commission boss to join him in the APC, emphasized the timeliness of his decision. He said, the move showed Prof Angwe to be a man of great wisdom adding that The Prof’s wealth of experience and wisdom would be of significant value to the Party at both the state and National level.

Others who spoke at the event, included Senator Jack Gyado, the State Chairman of the APC Comrade Abba Yaro, Senator Barnabas Gemade, Member Representing Vandeikya/Konshisha Federal Constituency, Rt Hon. Herman Hembe, Member Gboko/Tarka Constituency, Hon. John Dyegh, Chief Mrs Mimi Orubibi and Barr. Sam Ode.

The APC grows stronger and stronger in Benue and promises to salvage Benue from the terrible situation we presently find ourselves.
